Paul Charron and Sharon Enoch opened The Full Moon Café on the Manteo Waterfront in 1995.

Sharon is a native of Baltimore, and as one of the oldest of nine children, she's no stranger to making food in large quantities. "I credit my Mom for my culinary adventures. She had a horde of mouths to feed, but every Sunday we would set the table with fine china and silver and dine. She would set an ambitious menu that introduced the children to cuisines from around the world: veal marsala, chicken picatta, eggplant parmesan (not a hit), beef stroganoff... It was wonderful and it gave me a lifelong fascination with the incredibly diverse world of food." Sharon also is an accomplished potter and a number of her ceramic works grace The Full Moon Café and are available for sale in the adjoining Full Moon Gallery.

Paul hails from Manhattan (that little burg up north), where meat and potatoes were culinary kings of his Irish household. The couple met at college, married a few years later, and moved to the Outer Banks in the late 80s. Meant as only a temporary stop on the career trail, they fell in love with the Outer Banks and are intent on staying put. They live on Roanoke Island (a most amazing place), have three wonderful children, and have never regretted their move south.

"The integrity of our food is very important to us. We set high standards of freshness, presentation and flavor. Our fish of the day was swimming in the Gulf Stream yesterday. This emphasis on fresh local ingredients ensures that patrons of the Full Moon get a fantastic, memorable meal served with flair."
